Vesanka – a Rural Village in a City of Jyväskylä

Vesanka is a village some 14km west of the City of Jyväskylä, the capital of Central Finland.  The village offers “a house by a lake in the middle of a city” – no wonder that the amount of inhabitants is rising. There are about 2.200 inhabitants in the area.

Ponds, lakes with islands, high hills with marvellous views, spectacular forests and fertile farmlands provide a peaceful environment for the numerous families with children living in the area.

The village has two activity centres: the Village Hall Rientola, and the Vesanka Hall where the library, school and kindergarten are located. The swimming beach and most of the sports facilities are also situated there.
